New Superintendents for 2024-2025

Aligned with our vision to “Let Your Light Shine”, these appointments reflect our commitment to growth in faith formation, equity, diversity, inclusion and decolonization, wellness, and continuous improvement. Our dedication to nurturing a supportive and faith-filled learning environment is further strengthened by these new leadership roles. We are delighted to introduce Lisa Bilodeau as our new Superintendent of Education and Papy Mukenge as our Acting Assistant Superintendent of Education. Both bring a wealth of knowledge, passion, and a shared commitment to the values that define our Catholic school community. 

Lisa Bilodeau - Superintendent of Education

We are pleased to announce that Lisa Bilodeau will be joining BGCDSB as a Superintendent of Education effective August 19, 2024. Lisa is a passionate Catholic leader committed to student achievement, faith development, and well-being. Originally from northern Ontario, Lisa brings a wealth of experience from her current role as a Principal at the London District Catholic School Board (LDCSB).

Lisa is a bilingual educator with a robust background in both secondary and elementary education, particularly in French Immersion. She has led system research at the secondary level for developing French language proficiency and has been instrumental in aligning elementary French as a second language programs with the Science of Reading. Lisa's extensive experience includes roles as a Principal and Vice Principal in various LDCSB schools and leadership in developing, coordinating, and leading system programs, such as the board’s tutoring support program.

We are excited about the depth of experience Lisa brings to our system and look forward to the positive impact she will have on our school communities. Please join us in welcoming Lisa to the BGCDSB team!

Papy Mukenge - Acting Assistant Superintendent of Education

We are equally thrilled to announce that Papy Mukenge is returning to BGCDSB as our new Acting Assistant Superintendent of Education with a focus on Math, among other responsibilities. Papy's career in education is marked by diverse leadership roles and a strong commitment to Catholic education and equity, diversity, and inclusion.

This past year, Papy took a leave to serve as the Middle School Principal at Haven of Peace Academy in Dar Es Salaam, Tanzania. His previous experience includes serving as the Elementary Principal at the Canadian International School of Egypt in Cairo and various roles within the Waterloo Catholic District School Board. Since joining BGCDSB in 2017, Papy has served as an administrator at St. Anthony’s Catholic School in Kincardine and Immaculate Conception Catholic School in Formosa.

Papy brings a unique blend of regional and international experience, which will be invaluable in his new role. Outside of his professional life, Papy has a passion for music and enjoys walking along the beaches of Dar Es Salaam and Lake Huron in Saugeen Shores. We are excited about the insights and experiences Papy brings back to BGCDSB. Please join us in welcoming Papy back as the Acting Assistant Superintendent of Education.
