Dear Families,

We want to confirm with you that this afternoon the Premier and the Minister of Education announced that we will continue in remote learning for the rest of the school year. We appreciate this will be challenging information for many families. We trust that this decision by our Provincial Government is in the best interest and safety of all Ontarians. We have done an excellent job as a community to follow all of the safety measures and we continue to encourage all within our community to adhere to health protocols.

As we come to the close of this unprecedented year, we naturally look back and reflect on the joys and struggles,the successes and the challenges, and we seek to find meaning in our stories.
From the stresses of constant changes to learning environments, to the worry of illness for ourselves and those we love, to the struggle to work from home in ways that make sense and are healthy, to the struggle of going to work in the face of uncertainty, it has been quite a year!

The BGCDSB celebrates diversity within our school communities and welcomes and values all children. As Catholics, we believe that each of us is made in the image and likeness of God.

Dear Families,
We hope this letter finds you and your family safe and well during this extraordinary time and this extended closure period. We know and appreciate how hard remote learning has been on our families and on our staff. However, during this pandemic we have continually rallied around and supported one another to ensure that our community is safe. Dear St. Basil's Catholic School Students, Families and Staff,
As part of its enhanced safety measures upon our last return to school the Ministry of Education has moved forward with voluntary targeted COVID-19 testing here in Bruce and Grey Counties. Voluntary Targeted testing of Asymptomatic individuals is to be conducted at St. Basil’s Catholic School this Saturday. In addition to daily screening, masking and the other health and safety measures, targeted testing in schools is an important layer of protection that helps to limit the spread of COVID-19. It is another way identified by the Ministry of Education Targeted in which to keep our schools a safe environment for all to learn and work in.

During the week of May 2 to May 7, 2021, the Bruce-Grey Catholic District School Board will celebrate the significant contribution that Catholic Education has made to the community, the province and to Canada. Our Catholic Graduate Expectations challenge students to articulate in society those fundamental values that underpin Catholic education.
